The policies and procedures contained within this Nursing Handbook are adopted for two reasons:
1. To ensure compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations of our governing bodies.
2. To ensure effective and efficient program delivery so that program outcomes are achieved.
While adherence to these policies and procedures is our standard protocol, exceptions and/or deviations from these policies and procedures may be made. The guiding principles in determining whether an exception or deviation could be made is as follows:
1. Consideration will only be made in the case of an extreme life-altering circumstance.
2. Consideration will only be granted if it does not interfere with the quality of the program and its intended outcomes.
3. Consideration may require legal, medical, or other documentation and such documentation may be subject to verification.
4. There is no obligation on the part of the Institution or Nursing Program Director to grant any exception for any reason.
5. After all documentation has been received and reviewed, the Nursing Program Director will make a recommendation to the Campus President.
6. The Campus President will issue a decision and that decision will be final. There is no right to appeal.
